What to Order on Your First Visit

First time in? You are in good company. Most of the people at the tables around you found us the same way: a hungry drive down I-5, a quick search, and a turn onto Market Blvd. With a menu that covers smoked salmon, real BBQ, loaded bakers, and chowder, the first-visit question is real: what do you order?

We could tell you our favorites, but the honest answer comes from our Google reviews. Across 391 of them, the same dishes keep coming up. Here is what the people who have already eaten here would tell you to get.

The Smoked Mac and Cheese

The most talked-about dish in our reviews, by a wide margin. The cheese sauce is made fresh every morning with our own smoked cheese, and you can add smoked salmon, pulled pork, or brisket.

“The mac n cheese was on another level, topped with smoked cheese that exploded with flavor in every bite.”

The Smoked Salmon Chowder

Big chunks of smoked salmon and potato in a thick chowder. It converts people who thought they already had a favorite.

“I’m a bit of a chowder snob and this was absolutely the very best I’ve ever had anywhere, including the famous clam chowder in Ogunquit, Maine. This one beats them all.”

Locals will also tell you Friday is clam chowder day. Plan accordingly.

The Smoked Salmon Itself

It is in our name for a reason. There are three types of fresh wild-caught smoked salmon: Black Pepper, Brown Sugar, or Sweet and Spicy. Order it on a bagel, in a panini, on a loaded baker, or straight from the cold case to take home.

The BBQ

The smoker does not stop at fish. The brisket and pulled pork are dry-rubbed by hand and smoked low and slow, and the pulled pork takes over twelve hours from rub to plate.

“We live in Texas and the brisket was fantastic.”

The Epic Baker

A huge baked potato loaded with smoked cheese, pulled pork, and more. Reviewers describe it as a full meal on one plate, and one called it a five-course meal all on one plate. Come hungry.

Save Room

The carrot cake keeps showing up in reviews, and the peanut butter pie has its own fan club. Ask what is in the case when you order.

Before You Leave

Half the room is an artisan market stocked with local honey, smoked cheeses, jams, and goods from Lewis County makers. Grab lunch, then grab gifts. If you want the full menu before you visit, it is right here: see the menu. We are at 486 N Market Blvd in downtown Chehalis, two minutes off I-5 at exit 79.
